Be it a yummy snack or appetiser. This toast is a quick delight that’s quite easy to make. It’s herby, cheesy, buttery, spicy and garlicky!
How I developed this recipe-
All my friends and family are cheese lovers like anyone in this whole world. And when someone home is too filled for a burger and too underwhelmed about the basic cheese toast, I love to come up with innovative cheese toasts and this recipe that I’m sharing here is one of the best among those.
. Quick & easy- You can make this toast in a few minutes and it’s too easy that all you need as tools is a spoon and a bowl. So if you have any kind of bread at home, you have no excuse from not trying this.
. Herby & garlicky- It has the benefits of oregano, coriander and lots of garlic! Garlic is widely used from ancient times for its medicinal properties and health benefits. It’s anti-flammatory, good for organ health and even known to be anti-cancerous.
What you’ll need-
. 1 tablespoon of butter
. 1 tablespoon of olive oil
. 6 cloves of garlic
. Half teaspoon red chilli flakes
. 1 long green chilli, finely chopped
. Half a red onion, finely chopped (approximately 2-3 tablespoons)
. One by third to half teaspoon oregano
. 2 tablespoons of finely chopped coriander leaves
. 7 cubes/triangles of processed cheddar cheese triangles (about half a cup)
. 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
How to make-
. Take garlic and olive oil in a small bowl and heat cook in a microwave for one and a half minutes ~until garlic is roasted golden.
Process into flakes in a tiny mixer jar after it has cooled down.
. In a larger bowl , throw in the roasted garlic flakes, oregano, chopped coriander leaves, chopped green chillies, chopped onions, both cheeses and red chilli flakes. Mix it up and mash it to a spread like consistency.
. Spread it over your toasted slices of bread and grill it on the top rack of your oven for 7-10 minutes, until golden on top. Serve it hot to snap your lovely cheese pull moments!
Notes, Tips & Suggestions-
. You could make this cheese spread ahead and refrigerate. It will stay good upto 3-4 days in the refrigerator. So that you could try making this toasts faster whenever you need.. You could create this yummy treat from left over dinner rolls or hot dog bread rolls too.
. You can top this with cooked shredded chicken/ chopped mushrooms/ chives/ pepperoni/ chopped bell peppers/ olives to create your own variations of this recipe.
